# How to Sign a Document

Let us now move on to see how a document can be signed off by a Practitioner.

_Let us assume that Dr. Roger Millers is logged in and wants to see what are the pending documents for review and then sign them off._

**1.** Go on to **Documents | Pending Signing.** Pending Signing would show the list of documents that are in the queue to be reviewed and signed.

**2.** Click on the **Pen** icon to sign the document. You may need to **Preview** the document before signing it.

Once a Document or Visit has been signed, it cannot be Edited.  
In case you are wondering, what is the difference between a Visit and a Document? _A Visit is a note recorded by one of your team members. A Document is simply an attachment that was uploaded to the Patient’s chart._
