# How to Edit Bill Total

In day to day clinical operations, you might come across situations where you need to change the bill total in order to generate a bill for lower value. At the same time, you also need the taxes applicable to be calculated on a pro-rata basis for the amount you have chosen. This can be done very simply in Clinicea, provided you have the Financial Permission of **“Edit Discount”.**

**1.** Go to **Financials** | **New Bill** | **Add Bill Items** and select the Services/Inventory you want to add to the bill.

**2.** Once you have added the bill items click on the **pencil** icon next to the **BILL TOTAL** to edit the amount. Once you put in the revised **Bill Total** the taxes also gets calculated accordingly.

**3.** The same is applicable should you want to edit a Package bill.
