# How to Edit a Bill

**1.** Go to **Financials** | **Search Bill** | **Select Bill**, a new Edit Bill window will open.

**2. You can now change the** Transaction Date, Doctor, or add Comments if the Bill was created in the last 7 days. If the bill was created more than 7 days ago, only the Administrator can modify these fields.

If you need to **change items in a bill,** that cannot be done here. You will have to cancel this bill and create a new one with the correct items.

**Note:** If by chance you have entered an incorrect payment amount, then it is not the Bill that you want to change, you want to change the Payment.
