# How to combine Patients into a Family

When you have multiple Patients from a single Family, you may want to combine them as one **Family.** Let us have a look at how to do this.

**1.** Go to **Patient |** click on the **Patient** you want to link to a Family. _Ex: James Anderson._

**2. Patient Medical Record** will open | Click on the **Patient Name** in order to open Patient Details.

**3. Patient Details** window will open **|** By default Family will be the Patient name. _Ex: By default, it is **FAMILY: James Anderson**_  
Click on **Family |** On the right-side Search Family fly-out of all the family will open.

Click on **Change Family** that will list all the Families in Clinicea **|** Search and select the family member by clicking on the **+ button** beside their Name| Click on **Save.** _Ex: You can put James Anderson_ _in the Alero Binitie Family._

**4.** If a Patient needs to be removed from the Family you need to Click on **My Family.** Click on the **three vertical dots** on the right of the family name and **Remove from Family.**

That is how easy it is to combine patients in a family or remove patients from a family.
